Mine and Potash Museum

Located in Wittelsheim,  in the former cloakroom of pithead Joseph-Else, the Mine and Potash Museum introduces its visitors to the exploitation of  the potash  in Alsace. You can admire the last authentic “hangmen’s room” as well as a unique mineralogical collection with more than 5,000 samples of evaporite  rocks and a geological garden,  tracing the history of the area  for 2.5 billion years.
